Here is a canvas print of Chapin Beach in Dennis that I am donating to the Friends Or Relatives With Autism & Related Disabilities (FORWARD) silent auction. The silent auction Trivia Night fundraiser on November 18 will be at the Sea View in Dennis Port. The last Trivia Fundraiser was a great success, attracting over 150 enthusiastic attendees.
FORWARD’s mission is to build affordable supportive lifelong homes that enable adults with autism and related disabilities to thrive in an appropriate, safe, healthy and caring environment. Your donations will be used to help build 8 new affordable homes for Cape Codders in desperate need of suitable, accessible and affordable homes.
This new construction will include eight one-bedroom apartments for independent living to accommodate developmentally disabled adults who still need supportive services, health and safety supervision and access to 24-hour emergency response, but do not require a congregate setting with around-the-clock staffing. This project will be built adjacent to two group homes we completed on-time and on-budget in 2020 for residents with profound disabilities. Those homes are staffed 24/7 by Cape Abilities and have been continuously fully occupied since they opened.
